Froynlaven Auction For Charity

Yep. Years worth of animation cells from Animaniacs, Freakazoid and other odds and ends shall be sold by me! 100% of proceeds will go to Angels Way Maternity Home in the San Fernando Valley. I've been working with them for years and...in this economy...they could use a little help keeping the doors open.

Here's a little preview of the stuff I'm going to sell. Probably on Ebay. But I gotta figure that out.

  1. eBay has special rules for setting up an auction for charity:

If you set up your account and follow those rules, you should be good to go.

One tip is I would look around for other cels on eBay to get a rough idea how much they are selling for. Your signature will definitely be worth something, but getting a ballpark would help you set a reasonable starting point. A quick check doesn't turn up much in WBA cels, but unframed production cels are running around $150-200 and framed closer to $300+.

Warner Bros. related cels. Most are limited edition cels from WBSS, with very few production cels.

  4. I recommend waiting until after Christmas so people can catch up a bit financially.. but other than that, faboo idea!

  5. So, the Freakazoid T-shirt came out of the closet after 15 years, congrats. If I had the money, I'd definitely buy a cell or two, well, two would be stretching it. But, you see, at sixteen with no job, that's very difficult to do. There are people out there who will buy them though. So, best of luck to you.

  6. Makes me wish I had a good deal of money. But going for charity plus other animation fans, you could get some decent bank.

I don't 100% agree with the wait till after Christmas, at least, partially. I'd sell one cell on ebay, etc. and see how it goes. If it goes well, then you can start selling other options, etc.

You would also need to give aheads up maybe to toonnet or other animation websites, etc. :)

    Hope this helps.

  11. Be sure to triple check your minimum reserve prices. I lost several hundred dollars once because I was stupid and honest about it.

Hope the auction goes well. I'd love to have one of the Freakazoid! animation cells, but we'll have to see how thin the checkbook is in January.

    Merry Christmas!
